Greetings from Nagasaki Prefecture.
This is Takayama, a Hasami ware kiln.
Today's theme is "Touring the pottery kilns in Hasami".
Let's call it that.
This is the first in our series.
I'd like to go on a pottery tour, but what's there in Hasami Town?
Let's think about it together.
| What is Hasami-cho like?
A small town with a population of about 14,000.
Its main industry is ceramics production.
Hasami-yaki has a history of about 400 years.
Having worked hard in a small town, Hasami-cho has become a place that is respected around the world.
|Ceramic lovers, of course, have you heard of it?
I was proud to say that if you like ceramics, you must have heard of it at least once, but I previously saw some responses on Threads (☚) saying, "I've never heard of it."
It's still not well known in the northern part of Japan, so I've decided that I have to work harder as someone who is in charge of PR.
In that situation, I've heard some people say things like, "I'm interested, but I'm worried about whether I'll be able to get around," so I'd like to give you a little information.
|If you go to Hasami, can you enjoy pottery?
Recently, we have been proposing a "Takayama Day Trip Plan" that is packed with Hasami ware. This is a plan that allows you to enjoy "Hasami ware" in a compact way.
*Please see the previous post for details.
|I love pottery, but how do I "tour around the pottery studios"?
Takayama is nice, but I'd like to visit a tasteful pottery studio.
I'd like to experience the atmosphere of pottery culture.
If you have a clear favorite pottery studio, it's best to simply inquire and visit. I'm sure many places will accept you!
If you don't have a favorite pottery studio..., try visiting "Kurawankan" once.
It is the largest tourist product center in Hasami Town, and there you can find a map of Hasami Town, and the staff will kindly explain it to you.
"Is there a pottery studio I can visit today?"
"I like this plate, but is there a direct store?"
I often see people asking me questions when I'm in the store to change products!
They are very knowledgeable about Hasami Town, so I recommend this place.

|Continued
Next, I'll give you more details about the places to visit.
Look forward to it.
See you next time.
