With a history of approximately 400 years, Hasami ware from Nagasaki Prefecture is a renowned ceramic tradition.
We, Takayama, have walked alongside this heritage as a kiln in the region for about 90 years.
Specializing in pad printing, we have continued to create refined and tasteful tableware.
In 2021 (Reiwa 3), due to the absence of a successor, the business was transferred to Saikai Toki, a trading company for Hasami ware.
“Trading Company × Kiln”
— This is the first initiative of its kind in Hasami ware.
Hasami ware, which has been passed down while evolving with each era, is now stepping into a new phase.

We develop tableware that naturally blends into everyday life, combining ease of use with beauty.
■ Projects
With the opening of the Japanese buffet restaurant “Midouya” and a hands-on workshop where visitors can experience wheel throwing and underglaze decoration, the entire site has been reorganized as “MIDOU.”
This marks the beginning of a new tourism hub where craftsmanship, food, and hands-on experiences come together.

Hello everyone,
We are international students studying at a university in Kyushu.
Kyushu is home to a wide variety of manufacturing industries, each with a remarkable history and traditional techniques.
We had the opportunity to visit these manufacturing sites in person, to see them with our own eyes, and to experience them firsthand.
We also spoke directly with the people who are involved in these industries.
Through this website, we would like to share the joy and excellence of Kyushu’s craftsmanship as we experienced it.
